I was not there when the pictures were taken, but it looks like a shark to me and was reported as such. However that would be a pretty big shark, so I am leaning toward the ray.
That's a ray of some sort. I had a wing just like that pop up when I was out in front of the Sea Turtle. It surface right beside me, I freaked out and paddled in. The lifeguard saw the ray go under me and then "flip" it's wing up to create a thrashing effect.
